How a new septic system gets built

Our goal is a cost-effective system that meets your needs and has the least impact on your property. Here's how it goes.

  1. Call or text Tac

Tell us about the property: new build or replacement, the address, and what's going on. You talk to the owner from the first call.

  2. Site & soil evaluation

We start with the ground. A soil evaluation and percolation (perc) test show how well your soil can take water.

  3. Design with an engineer

We work with local engineers on your system design: mound, trench or pressure bed, and the right spot for it, with the least impact on your property and as much yard as possible.

  4. County permit

We work with you to get the proper permit from your county before the build starts. We help you through the county permit process.

  5. We handle the install

Tank, lines and drain field go in according to the approved design. We build systems with longevity in mind.

  6. Test & inspect

We test the system to make sure it meets the rules for your location, and the county inspects the work. Then we talk about a maintenance plan.

About permits: Colorado septic systems are permitted by your county's health agency (El Paso County Public Health, Teller County Public Health and Environment, or the Douglas County Health Department) under rules based on the state's Regulation 43. In the other counties we serve, that county's health office issues the permit. TCS is a licensed septic installer in El Paso County, and we help you through the county permit process. Septic pumping Colorado Springs

Don't let poop ruin your day (or your property)

Regular pump-outs are the cheapest insurance your septic system can get. TCS pumps residential and commercial tanks across Colorado Springs, the Tri-Lakes area, Black Forest, the Ute Pass and Teller County.

Tell us your tank size and what's going on: routine pump-out, backing up, getting ready for repairs, or selling the house. While we're there, we can check baffles, risers and the overall condition of the system so small problems don't turn into big ones.

Why TCS

It started with a septic install

In 2006, Tac Cobb had a local septic company come out to design and install a new system at his own home. He saw he could put his engineering and heavy construction know-how to work, and give local homeowners and businesses the same service at a more affordable cost. TCS Septic Pumping opened in 2007, and it's been a family business in Colorado Springs ever since.

"In a world where everyone talks poo poo," you want a septic company that doesn't tell you what to do. You want one that listens to your request and then offers the best solution.

In their words

What our customers say

Real words from real customers, quoted as they wrote them.

I called TCS Septic Pumping and talked to Tac on Saturday, May 13, around 9 a.m. He came out the same day only a few hours later. He pumped the septic for exactly what he quoted on the phone, nothing extra. When he was here I told him about the problems that I was having with my leach field and he walked around the property with me and told me everything that I could do to fix the problem myself so that I would not have to spend a ton of money. Another company had quoted thousands of dollars without even looking at it. Tac offered to help with his dump truck, make calls for dirt and help me find equipment to use to fix my leach field. He is a stand up guy that runs a hell of an honest business and as long as I live out here in Peyton I will use TCS Septic Pumping and recommend him to anyone that I can. He really saved us big when we needed it.

Jacob Webster

Great service. I called and had same day service. My septic was way overdue and they worked quick to get it cleaned out. Very fair price. I will be using them again.

Tim Priebe

Tac and his team are phenomenal. We had a last minute crisis with a septic system ON THE DAY OF CLOSING and even though Tac was out of town, he bent over backwards and operated with a sense of urgency to get us taken care of. Added bonus: their communication and follow through are fantastic!

FAQ

Quick answers

Do you install new septic systems and pump existing ones?

Yes, both. TCS Septic installs new and replacement septic systems (designed with local engineers), repairs and replaces leach fields, and pumps septic tanks for homes, cabins, rentals and businesses.

Do I need a permit for a new or replacement septic system?

Generally, yes. In Colorado, installing, altering or repairing a septic system (OWTS) requires a permit from your county's health agency. We help you through the county permit process. See how permits work.

Where do you work?

Colorado Springs and all the surrounding counties: El Paso, Teller, Douglas, Elbert, Pueblo, Fremont, Park and Lincoln. That includes Monument, Falcon, Peyton, Black Forest, Woodland Park, Divide, Florissant, Fountain, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls, Calhan, Elizabeth, Kiowa, Pueblo West, Cañon City and Lake George.
